IT Services Announces Fall Computer Lab Hours

IT Services to Launch New Webmail
On Tuesday August 8, from 5-6pm we will complete our summer email upgrade project by migrating to a new webmail service.  Webmail will be unavailable during this work.  Though functionally similar to the current webmail program, the new version is faster, has an improved user interface, and offers a number of new features.    more...

Kingery Computer Lab Closed Indefinitely; Capacity Increased in Other Labs

Professors Barreto, Howland Publish Hi-Tech Textbook

A decade’s worth of self-penned economics lessons edified through modern technology is now available in a convenient college textbook. Bert Barreto and Frank Howland, professor and associate professor of economics at Wabash College, respectively, started team-teaching econometrics (statistical analysis for economists) 10 years ago.

IT Services Preps for Daylight Savings Time
On April 2, 2006, most Indiana counties will begin to observe Daylight Savings Time (DST). This change affects Montgomery County and Crawfordsville, and means that Wabash will be on the same time as New York all year.  This change has some impact on computer systems, which store the local time zone as part of their system configuration.    more...

IT Services Summer Internship Opportunities
IT Services seeks two - three summer interns for up to 15 weeks (40 hrs/week), beginning May 15th. The interns will work closely with IT Services staff members. Projects include configuring, upgrading, and deploying desktop computers and network devices; assisting users with questions and problems; preparing written and web-based documentation and instructions; and evaluating new programs and technologies.    more...

Dr. Gary Phillips Named Dean of Wabash College

Wabash College President Andrew T. Ford is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Gary A. Phillips as Dean of the College effective July 1. Phillips is currently Professor of Religion and Chair of the Religion Department at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.

Trustees Elect Dr. Patrick White as Wabash's 15th President

The Board of Trustees of Wabash College on Saturday unanimously elected Dr. Patrick E. White as the 15th president of the private liberal arts college for men. White, currently the Vice President and Dean of Faculty at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, will succeed Andrew T. Ford on July 1.

Wabash Center Receives $8 Million from Lilly Endowment Inc.

The Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion has received an $8 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to further the work of the Center, which was established on the Wabash College campus in 1996. It is the ninth grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. totaling $27.2 million in support of the Wabash Center’s work.

Wabash Receives $12.5 Million Grant from Lilly Endowment

Wabash College President Andrew T. Ford has announced that the Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts at Wabash College has received $12.5 million in funding from Lilly Endowment Inc. The grant will support activities of the Center of Inquiry, which was founded by a $20.8 million Lilly Endowment Inc. grant in 2000, for an additional five years.

Thanksgiving Break Computer Lab Hours
Special computer lab hours will be in effect during the Thanksgiving break, November 19-27. During the break, the Armory computer lab will be open 8am-10pm, the Lilly Library computer lab will be open for limited daytime hours, and other labs will be closed.  All labs resume regular schedules on Sunday, November 27.    more...
