| What: |
|
Counseling for Wabash College students and their wives |
| When: |
|
Week days morning and afternoon. Saturday afternoon appointments are available. |
| Why: |
|
To get objective, professional input and help on a wide range of questions and problems.
It's free! It's confidential, and this guarantee is taken seriously. We talk to no one without a student's permission concerning whether or not we even see him. Not parents, not friends, not Deans, not teachers--no one. The only exceptions are under the law. Examples are when there is imminent danger to someone or a report of current abuse of a child or elder requires reporting.
Some reasons Wabash students come to the counseling service:
- Personal and academic questions
- Advice for family problems
- Stress
- Anger
- Grief and loss
- Conflicts with family or friends or guys in their living units
- Alcohol and other drugs
- Feeling edgy and anxious
- Relationships
- Motivation problems
- Feeling depressed
- Test anxiety
- Sexuality
- Concerns about a friend
- Generally feeling "stuck" about something
- Just wanting a neutral someone to talk to

The door will be open if we aren't with a student (although we usually are). You can call 765-361-6252 (x6252 from on campus) during normal business hours. If you get voice mail, press zero and Judy Oswalt, the secretary, can set up an appointment for you at a time that works for you. Or you can call her direct at x6324. The Student Counseling Service is also available by email, but be aware that email is not confidential.
