Little Giants Post 27 Top-10 Finishes at 2009 Woehnker Invite
Evan Rhinesmith led the Wabash swimming and diving team with victories in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races at the 2009 Patrick Woehnker Invitational over the weekend. The Little Giants finished with 27 top-10 finishes over the two days of competition.

2009 Patrick Woehnker Invitational Friday Results
Results from the Friday night session of the 2009 Patrick Woehnker Swimming and Diving Invitational are now available online. The two-day meet began Friday evening with diving and the 800 freestyle relay and 1650 freestyle events. Saturday's schedule starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Class of 1950 Natatorium on the Wabash College campus.

Vaughn, Birrer Score First-Place Finishes at DePauw
Eric Vaughn won the 100 backstroke and David Birrer took the top spot in the 200 butterfly Wednesday night in the Little Giants' dual meet at DePauw University. Wabash lost 200-100 to the Tigers.

Tankers Take Two at IWU, vs. Rose
Wabash scored its first two dual meet victories of the season, sweeping a double-dual from Illinois Wesleyan and Rose-Hulman Saturday afternoon. The Little Giants defeated host IWU 96-42. Wabash handed Rose-Hulman a 99-41 loss.

Elijah Sanders picked up three individual victories in Friday night's dual swimming and diving meet between Wabash and Kalamazoo. Little Giant head coach Steve Barnes' new team could not overcome his former team as the Hornets took down Wabash 170-126.

Tankers Open Season With Fifth at NCAC Relays
Wabash began the 2009-2010 swimming and diving season with a fifth place finish Saturday at the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays. The Little Giants posted eight top-10 finishes overall.

Barnes Hired To Lead Wabash Swim Program
Steve Barnes, former assistant at Kalamazoo College, has been hired as the new head swimming coach at Wabash. Barnes comes to Wabash after two seasons as the assistant coach of the Kalamazoo College men’s and women’s swimming program.

Little Giant swimmers hit the pool for the final time this season Sunday afternoon, competing at the BoilerMakeIt Last Chance Meet in an effort to trim some time off NCAA Division III Championship qualifying times. The results produced four new school records.

Wabash closed the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship meet Saturday evening with another school record and final All-Conference effort while finish fourth overall in the team scoring.

All-NCAC Relay Leads Wabash First-Day Swim Effort
The 400-yard medley relay team of Eric Vaughn, Evan Rhinesmith, Adam Current, and Craig Vetor took third place Thursday night in the finals of the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships to help Wabash to fifth place after the first day of the three-day competition.
