Tribbett Takes Spartan Mat Classic Title
Senior Jared Tribbett won the 149-pound weight class at Saturday's Manchester Spartan Mat Classic wrestling tournament. He grabbed one of nine top-eight finishes for the Little Giants in the tournament.

Wrestlers Hit Tough Competition at National Duals
Wabash found the competition as tough as advertised in its weekend trip to the National Duals at Northern Iowa University. The Little Giants were eliminated from team competition in the second round after losses to top-seeded Wartburg and Olivet.

Freshman wrestler Andrew Kepchar recorded six pins on his way to a fourth-place finish at Saturday’s Concordia Invitational. He was one of three Little Giant grapplers to place in the tournament.

Grapplers Start 2-1
Wabash split a double-dual meet Tuesday night after defeating Rose-Hulman in the season opener last Friday to begin the 2008-09 campaign with a 2-1 record. The Little Giants beat Manchester 27-16 after suffering a 49-0 loss to Indiana University in Tuesday's first match.

NAWM Inducts Eight in Athletics Hall of Fame
On the eve of the 115th Monon Bell Classic, the National Association of Wabash Men gathered to honor some of Wabash's finest athletes and coaches at the Athletics Hall of Fame banquet. Seven Little Giant athletes and former football coach Greg Carlson were inducted in the Hall of Fame at the event, which drew well over 200 people.

Olympians Bring Championship Lessons to Wrestling Camp
Continuing the tradition of having Olympians come to his camp, Wabash head wrestling coach Brian Anderson had two former Olympians — Rulon Gardner and Brandon Slay — help his annual camp Thursday. Gardner and Slay worked with 170 young wrestlers from the Midwest as part of the week-long training and competition sessions.

Wabash Wrestling Camp One of a Kind
Most college wrestling camps are instructed by former or current college coaches. Brian Anderson has no problem with that idea, but wanted to do something different than other colleges when he started Wabash’s team camp two years ago. Instead of bringing in college coaches, Anderson thought it would be better if he brought in high-profile wrestlers.
