Recent graduate Jake Thomas has been named to the 2009 All-Mideast Region Baseball Team. Thomas was selected for Third Team honors as an outfielder by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

A First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection in 2009 and 2007, Thomas led the Little Giants this season with a school-record 63 hits. He also topped the Wabash season lists in RBI (34), doubles (14), runs scored (35), batting average (.404), slugging percentage (.564), on-base percentage (.444), total bases (88), and tied for the lead in stolen bases (9). He was eighth in the NCAC in batting average and tied for fourth in hits.

Thomas set the all-time Wabash mark for career batting average by hitting .386 over four seasons as a Little Giant player. His 193 career hits is also the most-ever by a Wabash baseball player. He is second in total bases (279), fourth in home runs (13), and tied for fourth in doubles (35) over his career.

An English major and religion minor, Thomas was also an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team selection in 2009 and a Second Team pick in 2008.
