The Wabash basketball team, with two consecutive trips to the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament championship game, have been picked to finish third in the 2009-2010 league standings by the conference coaches. Sophomore Wes Smith and juniors Chase Haltom and Aaron Brock have been named to the 2009 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Team. Smith received First Team honors, while Haltom and Brock both earned places on the Honorable Mention team.

The 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship game started and finished with a flurry of three-point baskets, but in the end the College of Wooster hit the final shots in an 84-72 win over Wabash.

Defense Leads Wabash To NCAC Title Game
While Wes Smith was scoring 27 points on the offensive end of the floor, the Wabash defense combined to hold Allegheny to 37-percent shooting in a 73-56 win by the Little Giants. The victory puts Wabash in the North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball championship game for the second consecutive season.

Andrew Gilman silenced the Hiram crowd Tuesday night with a three-point shot to end a scoring run by the Terriers while helping Wabash to an 83-75 win in the quarterfinals of the North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. Chase Haltom scored 25 points while Wes Smith added 21 in the win.
