Wabash sophomore Sam Starbuck was flipping through the pages of Men’s Health magazine when he saw a promo for the Men's Health Urbanathlon in Chicago. Since fall baseball was over, he decided to compete in the 12-mile event — and he won his age group!

Wabash Alum Martin Named DePauw Interim Head Baseball Coach
Jake Martin, a 2003 Wabash College graduate, has been named the interim head baseball coach at DePauw University. Martin takes over for former head coach Matt Walker, who resigned on August 7.

Thomas Earns Mideast Regional Baseball Honors
Recent graduate Jake Thomas has been named to the 2009 All-Mideast Region Baseball Team. Thomas was selected for Third Team honors as an outfielder by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Five Named To 2009 All-NCAC Baseball Squad
Wabash seniors Matt Dodaro, Jake Thomas, and Andy Weeks were joined by junior Keegan Leckrone and sophomore PJ Tyson as members of the 2009 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Team. Dodaro and Thomas were First Team selections, while Leckrone received Second Team honors. Tyson and Weeks were named to the Honorable Mention team.

Series Split Sets Up Sunday Game For Wabash
The Little Giants scored a 6-5 victory in 10 innings in their first-ever North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament appearance against the ninth-ranked College of Wooster Fighting Scots. The Scots came back in game two of the best-of-three series with a 20-1 win to send the semifinal series to a decisive game three Sunday afternoon.

Wabash Relaxed Heading Entering Tournament
Senior Jake Thomas said this year’s Wabash baseball team has thrived off a goofy, laid-back mentality. The Little Giants have been in many big games this spring and have yet to let nerves get the better of them. Thomas anticipates the players will bring that same relaxed attitude as the Little Giants begin play in the North Coast Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament this weekend at Wooster.
