Ohio Wesleyan finished second in this year's team standings with 172 points. The 238 points by the Wabash team is the most in an NCAC men's indoor conference championship meet. Wabash also set the points total record last season with 311 while claiming its first NCAC outdoor championship.

"Last year we told the team that every point counted," Wabash head coach Clyde Morgan, who earned Men's Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season. "We preached that same message this year, but our athletes took it a step further. Instead of battling to get that one point, they kept finding ways to move up two or three places and add a bunch of points to our total.

"I'm proud of our athletes and all of our coaches. That Coach of the Year Award doesn't go to me. Every coach with the program — Roger Busch, Steve Rogers, Rob Johnson, Cassie Busch, Alex Moseman, Matt Scheller, and Horace Turner who could not be with us today — provided the leadership and plan to get our young men ready for this accomplishment."

McCarthy had a part of two NCAC meet records. He won the mile run with a time of 4:10. 46 to eclipse the old meet mark of 4:10.84 set two years ago, and broke his own Knowling Fieldhouse record of 4:16.54 in the event. McCarthy was also part of the Little Giants' record-setting distance medley relay team. He joined Doug Baker, James Kervan, and Sean Lewis to win that event with a time of 10:19.12 to break the old meet mark of 10:25.31.

Jake Waterman also set new meet and fieldhouse records, winning the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.86 to snap the meet mark of former Little Giant runner Geoff Lambert of 1:52.72 set in 2007. Lambert also held the previous fieldhouse record in the 800 at 1:53.31. Wabash swept the top-three spots in the 800 with Cole Hruskovich finishing second (1:55.63), and Jacob Caddick grabbing third place (1:55.97). Donavan White was sixth with a time of 1:58.49.

White and Shane Hoerbert joined McCarthy in the top-eight of mile run. White finished third to earn All-NCAC honors with a time of 4:18.16. Hoerbert was fifth, crossing the finish line in 4:18.96.
