2018 NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners:
Women's Field: Ana Richardson, Oberlin
Oberlin senior Ana Richardson (Eugene, OR/South Eugene) earned the award as the top field athlete over the course of the championship meet after she broke the NCAC record in the weight throw with a toss of 59'06.75" and finished second overall in the shot put with a heave of 42'11.50".

Women's Sprint/Hurdles: Lilah Drafts-Johnson, Oberlin
For the second year in a row, Oberlin senior Lilah Drafts-Johnson (Melrose, MA/Melrose) was crowned the NCAC Women's Sprint/Hurdler of the year after closing out the meet with a pair of individual event titles and another second-place relay finish. Drafts-Johnson topped the field in the 400-meters in a time of 58.67 seconds, before returning to the track just a short time later and capturing the title in the 200-meters in 25.78. She also ran the third leg on the second-place 4x200-meter relay that finished in 1:46.38.

Women's Distance/Middle Distance: Sarah Hevener, Allegheny
Allegheny junior Sarah Hevener (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) collected the award as the league's top distance runner over the course of the meet as she posted a pair victories in the two longest races. First, she broke the tape on Friday night in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:57.01, before returning to the track on Saturday afternoon and winning the 3,000-meter run in 10:21.73.

Newcomer of the Year: Jesse Margraf, Allegheny
Allegheny freshman Jesse Margraf (Mechanicsburg, PA/East Pennsboro) won the NCAC's inaugural Newcomer of the Year award after she logged second-place finishes in three different events at the 2018 NCAC Championships. Individually, she finished second in the mile (5:07.02) and the 3,000-meter run (10:25.43), while also running the anchor leg on the second-place distance medley relay that finished in 12:35.30.

Women's Coach of the Year: Ray Appenheimer, Oberlin

2018 NCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners:
Men's Field: Nate Newman, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan senior Nate Newman (Chillicothe, OH/Zane Trace) earned the NCAC's top honor in field events for the second year in a row and the third time in his career after winning two total field event titles over the course of the championship. He opened his defense of the yearly award last weekend by winning the NCAC heptathlon title for the third year in a row with 4,776 points at Denison. He then won the league title in the high jump for the second year in a row and the third time in his career at a height of 6'07.00", before finishing second overall in the long jump with a distance of 21'11.00" and fourth in the pole vault after clearing 13'11.75". In addition to his success in the field events, Newman also took home the individual title in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.38 seconds.

Men's Sprint/Hurdles: Tyler Gittins, Wittenberg
Wittenberg senior Tyler Gittins (Westerville, OH/Columbus Acad.) was the top men's sprinter and hurdler at the 2018 NCAC Championships with one individual event title and a pair of additional All-NCAC finishes. Gittins crossed the line first in the 200-meter dash in 22.64 seconds, while also finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.40) and third overall in the 400-meters with a time of 50.68 seconds.

Men's Distance/Middle Distance: John Hughes, Allegheny
Allegheny senior John Hughes (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) is now the first NCAC athlete in 19 years to win the league's top honor in Distance/Middle Distance Events in consecutive years after he won two individual events and placed third as a member of the DMR (10:24.23) at this year's conference meet. He swept the individual distance races contested on Saturday afternoon, first winning the mile in 4:14.53, before closing out his indoor conference career with the league title in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:40.99. Denison's Joe Dunham was the last NCAC athlete to win the award in back-to-back years in 1998 and '99.

Newcomer of the Year: Marquis Sena, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan freshman Marquis Sena (Bronx, NY/Institute for Math & Science) earned the inaugural NCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Newcomer of the Year award after winning the 60-meter dash in 7.00 seconds and running the third leg on the second-place 4x200-meter relay that finished in 1:31.34.
