The Wabash Jazz Band and Wamidan world music ensemble combined forces Wednesday night for an evening of music and spectacle in Salter Hall.
Wamidan and Artistic Director James Makubuya opened the evening with a selection of folk and original songs and dances from Uganda, South Africa, the Middle East, and the United States. The Wamidan Children's Ensemble joined the group with three numbers of its own, including two original songs by Children Ensemble Director Sister Stella Sabina.
The Wabash Jazz Band, directed by Steve Robinett, offered selections by Charlie Parke and Clifford Brown as well as crowd favorites "Misty" and the Wabash version of "Tequila."
