Lynne Thompson to Give Poetry Reading Tonight

Lynne Thompson, winner of the GLCA Poetry Award, will read from her poetry at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 in Center Hall, room 216. A reception and book signing will follow the reading in Center Hall, room 206.

Thompson, author of the poetry collection "Beg No Pardon" and winner of the Perugia Press first book prize, is a vivid and exciting new voice in American poetry. Thompson, who has been nominated twice for the Pushcart prize, holds a position as director of employee and labor relations at University of California-Los Angeles. She writes in jazz and her heart's music of her west Caribbean ancestors and of her life in L.A.

Thompson’s reading is free and open to the public.
