Wabash Men Have Interesting Range of Summer Plans

Wabash men have a fascinating variety of summer activities planned. From clinical research to helping run Hoosier Boys State, our annual survey of summer plans shows the fascinating diversity of our students.

We used e-mail to survey returning sophomores-seniors about their plans for the summer. Nearly 200 students in the three classes responded with their summer plans.

From summer research on campus, Wabash internships, jobs with Wabash alums, and some that just sound like a lot of fun, students will keep busy until classes resume Aug. 23.

It’s hard to pull just a few interesting ones from the linked lists, but here are a few:

• Sabir Shrestha ’09, Nepal, will work through a Dill Internship with UNICEF in a Primary School Improvement project in rural areas of Nepal.

• Eric Eder ‘08, Fort Worth, Tx., will have a summer internship with the Fort Worth Cats, a minor league baseball team.

• Krzysztof Wojciechowski ’09 will work for Greg Jania ’93 in a private equity firm in Chicago.

• Paul Wilson ’10, Franklin, In., will work at Skylake Yosemite Camp in California.

• Mike Hotz ’08 will work for the Indy Racing League in its TV compound.

• Riley Hitchcock ’09, Bedford, In., will be taking nine weeks of basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

• Tom Elliott ’08 will be performing at ComedySportz Club in Indianapolis.

• Craig Cochran ‘10, Indianapolis, will be a city counselor for Hoosier Boys State.

• Matthew Lee ’09, Evansville, will shadow attorney Todd Glass ’84.

But the campus doesn’t become a complete ghost town. Approximately 70 students have requested on-campus housing for internships and summer jobs at Wabash.
