SJVAWM Hosts Wabash on the Road

On Wednesday evening November 16 the St. Joseph Valley Association of Wabash Men welcomed Dr. Stephen Webb '83, Wabash professor of Religion and Philosophy, to South Bend for a Wabash on the Road event.

Wabash alumni, parents, and friends met at the Holiday Inn-City Center for a fun evening of fellowship and discussion.  Following a short reception and dinner, Professor Webb led a lively discussion on what was titled "President Bush and His Religious Rhetoric" and centered around Webb's article "Providence and the President" set to be published this winter.

Special thanks to Dick Barger '55 for organizing the evening which allowed Wabash alumni, their spouses, parents of current students, parents of alumni, and others to take part in a typical Wabash classroom type discussion.

There was a little wrinkle put into the plans for the evening.  The date had to be changed from November 17 to November 16 when Dr. Webb learned that his book The Divine Voice:  Christian Proclamation and the Theology of Sound had been selected as the RCA (Religious Communications Association) 2005 Book of the Year.  Public recognition of this award would take place in Boston on November 17 and Dr. Webb would be attending.
