Jonathan D. Schwarz and Andrew T. McGlothlen have been named Class Agents for the 2005 Wabash College graduating class.
“We were absolutely impressed by the quality of the applicants who applied to be the Class Agents for the Class of 2005,” said Director of Alumni Affairs Tom Runge ’71. “Everyone of the candidates would have done a fantastic job. Andrew and Jon stood out in their involvement with the entire Wabash community and their commitment to their class—the Class of 2005 will be well served.”
An English major, Andrew McGlothlen is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity where he has held office as secretary and pledge trainer. He is currently the senior gift campaign coordinator for his fraternity. McGlothlen has served as manager for the varsity soccer team and is an assistant to the Wabash College Sports Information Department, a position he has held since his freshman year. He is a member and social chairman of the Newman Club. He recently co-organized The Laugh Off, a fundraiser event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He is the son of Sherry Harper of Dunlap, Ill. and Thomas McGlothlen of Edelstein, Ill.
A political science major, Jon Schwarz is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity where he has held office as secretary and risk management chairman. He is a member of the Model United Nations and has served as president and treasurer and the Campus Political Party Organization, serving as president and secretary. He is the vice speaker for the Wabash Parliamentary Union and served as president and secretary of the Crew Club. He is currently the senior gift campaign coordinator for the Class of 2005 and is an administrative intern with the Wabash College Office of Dean of the College and Dean of Students. Schwartz is also the coordinator of student recruiters for the Wabash College Admissions Office. He is the son of Galen and Susan Schwartz of Indianapolis.
The Class Agent system, initiated in 1955, was designed to generate participation in alumni organizations. Class Agents also assist in generating new admissions, communicating directly with the college and classmates and encouraging interest in fundraising activities.
