Esther George, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will present the 2016 Benjamin A. Rogge Memorial Lecture at Wabash College in Baxter Hall, room 101, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.
George, also a member of the Federal Open Market Committee which has authority over U.S. monetary policy, will present, “An Insider’s View of the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Economy” as part of a program that honors the late Wabash College professor of economics, Benjamin Rogge.
Prior to her appointment as president on Oct. 1, 2011, George had been the Bank's chief operating officer since August 2009. She joined the Kansas City Fed in 1982 and was selected to the official staff in 1995. She has held various leadership positions with the Bank, including research support functions, Public Affairs, and Human Resources.
George earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri Western State University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Stanford University Executive Program.
There will be a reception immediately following the evening lecture in Baxter Hall’s Rogge Lounge. The talk is free and open to the public.
