Andrew helped Wabash to a 2-0 first half lead, connecting with Oluyedun less than 40 seconds into the home opener for the Little Giants. Wabash scored its second goal after Andrew's corner kick did not get cleared by the Golden Eagles. Andrew lifted a second pass to the right side of the Spalding net where senior Diego Aliaga was waiting. Aliaga fired the ball off his head and into the back of the net for his first goal of the season and third of his career.
The first goal of the second half also came off the foot of Andrew. Tommy Pecar gathered a pass from Andrew and scored his first career goal to put Wabash in front 3-0. Oluyedun added another goal off a pass from Aliaga in the 72nd minute. Oluyedun helped close out the scoring with less than three minutes left, finding Phil Rosborough on the far side of the net. Rosborough drilled a header into the left upper-third of the goal to complete the scoring.
While the Little Giant were peppering the goal with shots, freshman netminder Ian MacDougall registered his first career shutout with four saves. Wabash outshot Spalding 21 to 7 and blasted 11 shots on goal compared to 4 for the Golden Eagles.
Wabash (2-0) will play Maryville College in Sunday's final game of the Robbie Dreher Classic at 2 p.m. at Mud Hollow Field.
