Wabash Day Update

September 13, 2005
We are about six weeks away from the NAWM’s inaugural Wabash Day--Wabash Alumni Benefiting And Serving Humanity, October 29-30. All alumni and their families are encouraged to participate.
What is Wabash Day? In May 2005, the NAWM resolved to have a national day of community service whereby alumni from around the country or the world would autonomously organize and perform community service. Wabash Day is inexorably linked to Wabash’s core values. The Gentlemen’s Rule requires Wabash men to be responsible citizens, and the mission statement requires us to think critically, act responsibly, lead effectively, and to live humanely. Regional associations and "ad hoc" associations are organizing community services now. They need our help, as do the communities where we live. To help, please contact Tom Runge at the alumni office (runget@wabash.edu) or me at the contact information below, or contact a Wabash Day Leader in your area. You can find a list of those leaders at the end of this message. If there is no activity in your area, we will help you form one in your area. Thanks for your interest in Wabash Day. Jon R.
