CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.—All members of the Montgomery County community are invited to attend Wabash College’s 35th Annual Christmas Festival of Music and Readings on Wednesday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the Wabash College Chapel. This festive event is an opportunity for college and community to come together in a traditional service of readings from the Old and New Testament and a wide range of musical offerings.

The program, based on a traditional English service and begun at Wabash by the late Eric Dean, features Advent and Christmas scriptures read by members of the Wabash faculty, staff, and student body, as well as Christmas music sung by the congregation and performed by members of Wabash and community musical ensembles.

The Christmas Festival will feature traditional songs, including a number of pieces performed by the Wabash College Glee Club and soloists; the Wamidan World Music Ensemble singing in Swahili; a duet by Sheila Evans and Richard Bowen; special instrumental performances by the Wabash String Quartet (Adam Dybel, Andrew McKone, Seth Zirkle and Braden Pemberton); the Wabash College Brass Trio (Daniel Ristine, Carlos Carrillo, and Gary Moore); and Cheryl Everett on organ. There will be several familiar carols to be sung by everyone.

Readers include five members of the Wabash class of 2004. They include Patrick Barrett, Demetrian Cook, David N. Dahl, Jim Young, and Seth Zirkle. Also reading will be Crawfordsville community members Joyce Burnette, Nancy Kashon, Sam Hildebrand, Kristen Albrecht, and Sylvia Bravo.

The traditional Christmas Festival is co-sponsored by the music and religion departments and is free and open to the public. There will be a reception following the Festival.
