About Wabash College Library Interlibrary Loan
What: Interlibrary loan is the library service which allows Wabash College Library users access to materials from more than 11,000 libraries worldwide. Materials in any format may be requested, but not every library will lend every format, and some libraries do not lend at all.
Who: Current Wabash College faculty, students and staff may use this service. Wabash College alumni may also use this service if they are able to pick up material at the Lilly Library and return it to the Lilly Library. Interlibrary loan material is always subject to recall by the lending library. If recalled, material must be returned within 24 hours, so it is not recommended that anyone who does not come to campus daily or live nearby avail himself/herself of this service.
When: Interlibrary loan requests are placed upon receipt and usually take anywhere from several days to 2 weeks to arrive. Once it has arrived, most material can be kept for 3-4 weeks with the possibility of one renewal.
How: Interlibrary loan requests are placed online through the ILLiad system, accessible from the Lilly Library homepage. If you have not used the service before, you must first register. After that you can logon to ILLiad using your username and password.
Where: Emails are sent when materials arrive at Lilly Library. Material may be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Material should be returned to the ILL Return Crate at the end of the Circulation Desk nearest the Head Librarian’s office.
Some cautions:
Material (with the exception of photocopies) obtained through interlibrary loan may not be placed on reserve. Users are responsible for any overdue fines, damage to material or loss of material.
