CRAWFORDSVILLE COMMUNITY CIRCULATION POLICIES

The first priority of the Lilly Library is to serve the academic pursuits of the College’s students and faculty.  Service to others in the community is offered as a courtesy. The library staff is available to help you with your reference questions, but personal assistance may be limited by our responsibilities to our students and faculty. Interlibrary loan services are not provided for guest borrowers.

Guest Borrowers

We grant library borrowing privileges to family members of Wabash College faculty and staff, Wabash alumni, faculty and students of other PALNI member institutions, and residents of Montgomery County. Other visitors to campus are welcome to use our facilities but are not eligible for borrowing privileges.

 Lilly Library Card

Wabash family members should present their Wabash ID cards for Library registration.

Montgomery County residents must show a driver's license or other current identification to verify their legal residence and pay a $1.00 processing fee.  They will then complete a guest borrower registration form to be turned in to the Circulation Supervisor.  A library card will be sent to the borrower's home address.  Upon receipt of this card, the borrower may check out books for a period of three weeks.  A parent or guardian must register in person for any person under 18 years of age.

Visiting students and faculty from other PALNI schools must present a valid campus ID or library card from their institution.

Alumni should consult our Alumni Information page.

Circulation of Materials

A maximum of 10 books or government documents may be borrowed at any time.  Sound recordings, videos, and other media software circulate only to Wabash students, faculty and staff.  Periodicals do not circulate.

The loan period for books and government documents is 3 weeks, with 1 renewal possible.  Exception:  we will recall any item at any time, if it is needed by a Wabash student or faculty member.  Renewals must be requested before an item is due.

You will get a notice through the mail when books or documents are overdue.

 Online Requests

Patrons of the Crawfordsville District Public Library may request books and government documents by completing and sending a request to the Library from the Lilly Library catalog.  Books and documents requested this way will be delivered to the Crawfordsville District Public Library for pickup.  To request books or documents you must be a registered borrower with the Lilly Library.

When you find a desired title in the Lilly Library Catalog, use the ‘E-Mail / Request’ option to submit a request for the item.  Detailed instructions for completing the request form will appear.  Requested books or government documents will be delivered to the Crawfordsville District Public Library for pickup within 48 hours of the request.  The Public Library will contact you when your books arrive.  You will also be notified if a request cannot be filled.

Lilly Library books may also be returned to the Crawfordsville District Public Library.  All Lilly Library borrowing policies apply to books and documents borrowed through catalog request.

Fines and Loss of Checkout Privileges

There is a fine of 25 cents a day for overdue material. Once a fine is incurred, borrowing privileges will be suspended until the fine is paid.  If you damage or lose a book, we will ask you to pay the repair or replacement cost; otherwise, you will be denied checkout privileges.

Questions and concerns can be directed to Mrs. Diane Norton, Circulation Supervisor, at 765-361-6330 (nortond@wabash.edu).
