Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Biochemistry or Bio-organic. The Wabash College Chemistry Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin July 1, 2009. Area of specialization should be in bio-organic or biochemistry. Undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry or biochemistry required. A strong commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting is expected. The successful candidate will teach biochemistry and organic and contribute to general chemistry and all-College courses. Establishment of a research program involving undergraduates is expected. The Chemistry Department, which is ACS certified and has six full time faculty, has recently moved into a new science building. Position reports to Head Football and Head Track & Field Coach/or Head Baseball Coaches. Preference given to defensive experience in football. Candidate must possess experience with video/computer editing and the ability to coordinate video for football. Additional responsibility for recruiting in both sports.
Bachelor's degree and commitment to excellence in working with Division III student-athletes in a competitive academic environment required. Appointment is for 10 months, beginning August 1, 2008. Assistant Professor of Political Science

Political Theory: The Political Science Department at Wabash College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to teach political theory courses beginning July 1, 2009. The area of specialization within political theory is open, but preference will be given to candidates with some teaching competence in American politics. This position is a Byron K. Trippet assistant professorship, which requires a Ph.D. in political science at the time of appointment, and carries with it two years of research support. The teaching load of three courses a semester may also include an interdisciplinary course. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, an active research program, and an interest in involving undergraduates in research. Wabash is located in Crawfordsville, Indiana approximately 45 minutes from both Indianapolis and West Lafayette. In addition to the amenities offered by these nearby cities, Crawfordsville is located near some of the best outdoor recreational opportunities in the state at Shades and Turkey Run State Parks. Dual Internship Position, Swimming and Career Services.

Wabash College invites applications for the position of Assistant Swimming Coach and Career Center Intern. Wabash College, a highly selective liberal arts college of 850 men, is a Division III member of the NCAA and a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference. Assistant Swimming Coach duties will include recruiting, on-deck and dryland training, meet management, and other various tasks as assigned by the head coach. The career services duties will include working with students individually and in groups, aiding the director in event planning, working with alumni and employers, and helping students identify and apply for internships. This dual position has enabled interns to gain invaluable skills and experiences that have resulted in fantastic job opportunities. Salary is $10,000 plus room and board.
