Off-Campus Studies!

This web site will facilitate your participation in an approved off-campus study program. Whether you choose a program within the United States or in another country, Wabash College believes that this can be one of the most important life-changing educational experiences of your life.

DEADLINES !!

The deadline for International Studies Area of Concentration is Friday, November 7th, 2008!!   Please talk about this great program with  David Clapp in Center Hall 112.

The deadine for ALL OTHER fall 2009 or spring 2010 off-campus programs is Friday, December 5th, 2008 at 4:00 PM.  Applications will not ordinarily be considered after the deadlineHere's what you need to do:

1. If you plan to study in another country, apply for a passport.

2. Attend one required Call-out meeting or Introduction to Off-Campus Study Class. 

3. Discuss your plans with your Academic Advisor. 

4. Visit the Off-Campus Study Office  (Center Hall 112) to find the right program for you.

5. Attend the Off-Campus Studies Fair in International Hall of Detchon Center on Tuesday, September 30th anytime between 7 - 9:00 PM.

5. How to Choose an OCS Program.

Modern Language majors and minors: you must begin the process of program selection by FIRST discussing with your current professor who will provide an evaluation of your level of proficiency to you and to David Clapp.  This information will be integral to selection of the best possible program which will meet your needs.  Then schedule a time clappd@wabash.edu to discuss available options.  All language classes taken abroad must be approved by the appropriate department chair!!

7.  Wabash Programs in the United Kingdom:

          The Scotland Program at the University of Aberdeen

          The Yorkshire Program at York St. John University

          Other programs taught primarily in    English 

8. Complete the on-line application - deadline December 5th, 2008.

9. Complete the Course Approval Form - deadline December 5th.

10. Complete Advisor/Department Chair Form - deadline December 5th.

11. Await approval of Off-Campus Study Committee (OCSC).

12. If approved by the OCSC, apply to your program.

13. Once approved by your program click here.

Both of the above awards are competitive, and require prior approval of the student's application to study off-campus. Please contact David Clapp in the International Studies Office for details regarding both awards and the application procedures
