  Thursday, October 9th - Baxter 101    11:10 - 11:50 AM

Final Application DEADLINE is Friday, December 5th, 2008 - submitted on-line

Here is additional information and part of the text of the Intro class, provided for reference.

Important points to know re: Off-Campus Study:

It is supremely important to make sure when you are signing up for classes overseas that each class will yield INDIVIDUALLY at least three (3) semester hours of credit on your transcript from the study abroad organization.  Wabash College awards ONE WABASH COURSE CREDIT for each class listed on your transcript that is 3, 4, or 5 semester hours.  Anything less will only yield 1/2 of one course credit toward your degree.  When in doubt ask the local academic advising personnel.

Your GPA cannot fall below the 2.7 cumulative GPA requirement at any time before OCS.

You will apply to your actual program after you have been approved by the OCS Committee.

College policy allows you to earn a maximum of five (5) Wabash course credits, minimum of four (4) per semester on the above approved off-campus study program.

Be aware that pre-professional courses (e.g. business, law, and medicine) do not generally count for Wabash credit. If you take any course of this nature, you may jeopardize all transfer of credit.

There is no such thing as pass/fail credit for Wabash students; credit is awarded only for courses in which you receive a C- or better grade, or grade equivalent.

You must complete the course approval form with individual courses approved by the Registrar’s Office (Sharon Lawton or Julie Olsen), and courses in your major(s) or Minor(s) approved by the appropriate department chair, or risk not receiving credit.

It is your responsibility to communicate with David Clapp while registering on-site at your OCS program location regarding any changes of courses not pre-approved. If you do not fulfill this requirement, you risk no credit for courses taken off-campus.

You must request from your program that a final transcript be sent to the Registrar, Wabash College. PO Box 352, Crawfordsville, IN 47933-0352.

following the instructions provided by David Clapp, and bring the appropriate page to him for signature approval from Wabash and for mailing from the OCS Office.

After committee approval and while applying to your program sponsor, you will complete three other forms for Wabash College. The first two must be signed by you and your parents – no faxes.

     1) Financial Aid Participation Agreement,

      2) Waiver/Liability/Medical Form.

      3) The Account/Refund Form requires the student’s signature only

All forms are available on-line in PDF format or in Center Hall 112. Parents may download, print, sign and mail to the student for signature. Both must be returned to Center Hall 112 no later than Friday, January 18, 2008.
