Speakers and Artists Series

The Experience Indiana portion of the Quality of Life in Indiana Grant is excited to support a speakers and artists series.  The Experience Indiana Speakers and Artists series is meant to supplement the successful visiting artists and visiting lecture series that currently exist on campus; however it differs in that Experience Indiana emphasizes local speakers and artists.  The goal of the series is to counter the unfortunate and unintentional message that it is necessary to import artists and scholars from outside the local community.  There is a wealth of cultural resources within Indiana.  Experience Indiana aims to promote such resources.

Experience Indiana is always on the look out for speakers and artists relevant to our local community.  Consequently, Experience Indiana is accepting speaker/artists proposals from faculty, students, and staff.   Students and student groups who make a proposal must have a faculty or staff sponsor.  Guidelines for proposing a speaker/artist can be found below.

Please include the following in your proposal:

  • Speaker/artist
  • A description of the visit and its relevance to the Experience Indiana program
  • Date/duration of the visit
  • Budget, including:
-estimated transportation expenses, including vehicle costs and driver wages
      -estimated lodging/meals expenses
  • For student group submissions, please include the faculty/staff sponsor

Experience Indiana Speakers and Artists proposals will be reviewed by the Dean of the College and the Experience Indiana Advisory Committee before receiving final approval.  Following the conclusion of the Speaker/Aritst's campus visit the event sponsor will be expected to submit a final report detailing the sucess of the event.  Proposals and questions should be submitted t
