Know Indiana Internships

Through the Know Indiana internship program, Wabash is able to fund a number of paid internships that enable Wabash students to work directly with nonprofit organizations and governmental entities who promote culture in the state of Indiana. During the summer of 2008, Anthony Morton and Spencer Elliot secured internships with the Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis, IN. Alex Thompson secured an internship at the Lew Wallace Study & Museum in Crawfordsville, IN.
The Know Indiana program funds summer intern stipends at $2816 for 8 weeks. College summer housing is available to Wabash student interns and research assistants only during the funded period between May 11 and August 26, 2009. Summer housing is guaranteed only if the request is submitted to Wabash Works by April 13. If housing is available after that date, it will be on a first-come basis.

In addition to the internships offered above, any Wabash student who has secured or is in the process of securing an unpaid summer internship with an Indiana nonprofit cultural organization or government department/cultural commission can apply for funding through the Know Indiana internship program. Interships are only available to Wabash freshman, sophomores, and juniors.
Wabash students interested in applying for one of the internships listed above or seeking funding for a secured summer internship, should:

Be prepared to provide the following materials for the application:
• A cover letter stating the desired position • A resume • Two professional or academic letters of recommendation • An unofficial academic transcript
