Several Delta Tau Delta Students attended the Opening Season Indianapolis Colts vs. Bears Game at the brand new Lucas Oil Stadium. This trip was sponsored by Experience Indiana
The Experience Indiana component of the Quality of Life in Indiana Grant is grounded in the belief that Indiana's Hoosier surroundings are intellectually stimulating and should be more widely promoted. The program will acquaint students, faculty, and staff with the rich cultural and historical resources of Indiana. Our goal in exposing the Wabash community to these resources is to encourage community members to share their experiences with others, to encourage the continued use these resources, and to present Indiana as an attractive environment in which to live and pursue career choices.
Experience Indiana achieves its objectives through two components – Experience Indiana Trips and Events and the Experience Indiana Speakers and Artists Series. Both these components are meant to serve the Wabash community at large. Past Trips include excursions to the Little Italy Festival in Clinton Indiana, Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, Pride Film Festival, kayak trips on Sugar Creek, as well as attendance at Cirque Du Soleil in Indy, numerous events at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, and a variety of plays and musicals throughout the state. Past Speakers and Artists Series activities include a presentation on birds of prey by the American Eagle Foundation, a speech by author and sustainability advocate, Michael Richards, and a CD debut concert with local bluesman and soul singer Tad Robinson.
Experience Indiana is constantly on the look out for relevant cultural activities and is accepting proposals from students, faculty, and staff for Trips and Events as well as the Speaker and Artists Series. Visit the appropriate page to view guidelines for proposals.
The Quality of Life in Indiana Grant is made possible by the Lilly Endowment.
