The Experience Indiana Trips and Events program sponsors travel to and participation in culturally significant activities within the state of Indiana.  The goal of these trips is to improve knowledge of Indiana culture within the Wabash Community. Experience Indiana trips are intended to serve the Wabash community at large, in contrast to trips that are limited to students enrolled in a specific course (course based excursions are funded through the Know Indiana component of the Indiana Quality of Life Grant).Trips to state parks, historical sites, museums, local festivals, concerts, and cultural venues such as theatres, symphonies, etc. are a few of the possible activities that the Experience Indiana Trips and Events program will sponsor.

Trips may be proposed by faculty, students, and staff. Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit proposals and to assume the role of trip leaders.  Students and student groups who make a proposal must have a faculty or staff sponsor.  Guidelines for trips and the proposal application can be found below.

Experience Indiana Trips and Events Guidelines:

• Experience Indiana will sponsor day trips within the state of Indiana focused on cultural activities, not research or academic inquiry.

• Experience Indiana will provide for a maximum of one meal, as appropriate to the overall trip duration or the event, with a general maximum of $10 to $15 per person, including tax and tip.

• The ideal group size for a trip is 11-33. Maximum group size for a particular trip will be determined by a variety of factors, including transportation resources, event costs, and group number limitations imposed by the nature of the event.

• Trips should be scheduled so that students will not have to miss class in order to participate.

• Budgets for these events can include but are not limited to: 1) transportation, including vehicle costs and driver wages, and 2) tickets / admissions to events 3) one meal associated with the trip.

If you have a potential event that satisfies these guidelines, please fill out the Proposal Form and submit it to Gina Bowman.  Experience Indiana Trips and Events applications will be reviewed by the Dean of the College and the Experience Indiana Advisory Committee before receiving final approval.
