Wabash College continues to welcome applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics, to start July 1, 2013. This is a three year position, with continuance contingent on a review at the end of the first year. Ph.D. in mathematics is required. Area of specialization is open; preference will be given to areas that expand the mathematical breadth of the department. Applicants must have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and an appreciation for the broad intellectual community of an excellent liberal arts college. Wabash College, a liberal arts college for men, invites applications for the position of Director of Financial Aid. Reporting to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, the Director of Financial Aid will play a vital role in advancing the College’s evolving business model. Of paramount importance will be strategically deploying institutional resources to meet enrollment and net tuition revenue goals. In addition to managing the financial aid office on a daily basis, the director will be an integral part of the admissions recruiting effort. The director will also be expected to provide campus leadership through collaboration with athletics, advancement, the business office and several campus-wide committees. The Wabash College Financial Aid Office provides financial assistance to approximately 700 returning students and 900 prospective students annually. The director is responsible for developing and directing financial aid strategies within the framework of federal and state regulations that are consistent with the enrollment objectives of the College. This is accomplished by administering need based aid, merit based scholarships, student employment and loan programs. Providing a high level of customer service is a top priority in helping families navigate through the financial aid application process and understanding their financial aid award and financing options. The director is expected to maintain an office that is approachable, friendly, and professional in its interactions with parents and students. In overseeing an aid budget of 28 million dollars, the director is responsible for programs involving federal, state, institutional, and local funds. Managing the financial aid office includes the direct supervision of two professional aid officers and one support staff member. Duties include sharing the counseling and advising workload with the staff. A bachelor’s degree is required. Five or more years in a progressive management role in financial aid or a related higher education setting is preferred. Among the skills and experiences being sought are:

Wabash College seeks candidates for the position of Director of Development. Reporting to the Dean for College Advancement, the Director of Development is a key member of the Advancement team and manages the Major Gifts, Corporate and Foundation Grants, and Advancement Research staff to ensure that strategic goals of the College are well funded. The Director of Development seeks out opportunities and develops and implements initiatives to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support for the College. The position is also entrusted with the recognition and stewardship of individual major donors. The position works with staff to set performance and department goals, monitors work and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the College. Wabash College invites applications for the part-time position of Annual Fund Phone-a-thon Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be energetic, creative, and detail oriented and will manage all facets of the Annual Fund student phone-a-thon. This person will also assist in soliciting various constituents for Annual Fund support during peak fundraising seasons. The Wabash Annual Fund raises approximately $3.2 million annually in unrestricted gifts from more than 4,400 alumni, parents, and friends of Wabash College. Primary responsibilities of the position:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent fundraising or phone room/call center experience required. The position also requires excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills; experience in data analysis; willingness to work evenings and weekends in the student phone room; desire to work with and mentor college students; and willingness to work within a larger team of development professionals. The Office of Annual Giving is part of a larger College Advancement team that includes Alumni & Parent Relations, Major Gifts, and Advancement Services. The Annual Fund Phone-a-thon Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for College Advancement. This is a part-time hourly position that requires evening and weekend work hours. This position is budgeted for 525 hours on a fiscal year basis and does not include benefits. Wabash College Department of Religion invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in World Religions. This is a one-year sabbatical replacement, to begin July 1, 2013. Ph.D. preferred, A.B.D. will be considered. Teaching responsibilities will be three courses a semester. Candidates should have the ability to teach introductory courses in the following areas: Islam, South Asian religions, and East Asian religions, and upper-level courses suitable for a liberal arts college. Wabash College supports a collegial and collaborative teaching environment, with support for faculty development, and fosters interactions among faculty members and between faculty and students.
