While most of its courses focus on the Christian tradition, the Wabash religion department also has particular strengths in Asian religions.

In addition to majors with a Christian background, the department has hosted Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu majors as well as students with an intellectual interest in religion who are themselves skeptics.

The department grounds its students in a variety of religious traditions while also helping them reflect on the different methods to study religion.

Indeed, a religion major often provides undergraduates a useful way of developing, in effect, an interdisciplinary major with work in everything from anthropology to biblical studies.
