Behind the wheel of a police car, at the controls of a helicopter, underwater in scuba gear, or handling explosives and firearms with an expert's touch, an Indiana State Trooper's career is one of action. From its humble beginning in 1933 with sixteen officers, to today's department with over 1,200 enforcement personnel, the Indiana State Police is one of the premier state police agencies in the country. Indiana State Police is currently accepting applications for the 73rd Selection Process. Do you have what it takes to become a trooper? Meet with Sgt. Kim Riley and learn more about how you might become a part of the future of the Indiana State Police.

Ken Crawford WWII Lecture: Baxter Hall 101, 7:00PM - 8:30PM
 
Bringing Home the Missing from World War II by Kenneth C. Crawford Wabash '69. This special presentation highlights work by the Department of Defense to search for and recover the 78,000 servicemen still missing from World War II. Crawford, recently retired from Air Force civil service, covers a six year period in which he supported the U.S. Army-Europe Theater Mortuary for the investigation, search, and recovery of missing soldiers and airmen throughout Europe. Investigation methods, search and recovery missions in France, Germany, Belgium, Albania, and Bulgaria, the return home, and burials with military honors are presented Light refreshments will be provided.
 
Reading by Matthew Vollmer: Fine Arts Center Korb Classroom, 8:00PM
 
Author Matthew Vollmer will give a reading from his book, "Inscriptions for Headstones" at 8 pm in Korb Classroom. Vollmer is author of a short story collection Future Missionaries of America and a book of creative nonfiction titled Inscriptions for Headstones. With Reality Hunger author David Shields, Vollmer also edited Fakes, an anthology of pseudo-interviews, quasi-letters, "found" texts, and other fraudulent artifacts. Vollmer has published in many of the nation's top periodicals, including The Paris Review, Tin House, and Virginia Quarterly Review. He is a recipient of a 2010 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and he has been nominated several times for a Pushcart Prize. He attended the famed Iowa Writers Workshop and currently teaches in the MFA program at Virginia Tech University.
