Sophomore Interviews: Center Hall 115
 
Sophomore Interviews will be taking place in the Dean of Students’ Office beginning January 14 through March 1, 2013. This is the time when Sophomores will declare their major and minor, and/or area of concentration, as well as reflect on their Wabash experience thus far. Please stop by Center Hall 115 and sign up for an appointment with Dean Raters.

The movie, "HEAR AND NOW," will be shown at 6 pm in Baxter 101. Movie synopsis: After 65 years of silence, Paul and Sally Taylor decide to undergo cochlear implant surgery and explore a totally unfamiliar world, the realm of sound. In this deeply personal memoir, the filmmaker documents her deaf parents' complex decision to undergo this risky and controversial medical procedure. This is a magical and deeply moving story of two people who embark on an extraordinary journey from silence to sound. The question is, how will they react to this dramatic change? And what may they gain, or lose, forever?The movie discusses the personal experience of being deaf and the adaptations they had to go through with the cochlear implant. A question and answers session will follow the movie.

Dive! (The Documentary): Hays Hall 104, 8:00PM
 
"Dive!" is a documentary about food waste and imaginative ways of dealing with it. Like it or not, Dumpster Diving is a growing phenomenon and Dumpster Divers, a community of people dedicated to bringing attention to the amount of waste our society produces. Dumpster Diving is illegal and possibly dangerous. But it's also a reality. This film will help us understand it. Brought to you by the Faculty Film Committee. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Professor of Economics Christie Byun and Bon Appetite Chef Richard Shimizu.
