Advanced -- A first course in higher abstract mathematics. Emphasis is placed on writing proofs. Topics in Mathematics 331 include groups (motivated by permutation groups), rings, fields (motivated by number theory), and homomorphisms, and applications. Topics in Mathematics 332 include the above and ideals, integral domains, order, algebraic properties of integers, polynomials over algebraic structures, vector spaces and modules.
