Union Station is metro accessible via the red line and there is also parking available in the rear of Union Station which can be validated for a reduced rate. NCAWM 2008 ELECTIONS FOR BOARD
On June 3, 2008 at 11:45, the NCAWM met for it's monthly luncheon and elected four new board members, and elected a new Secretary/Treasurer to fill in for Terry's Archambeault's remaining term period. The following alumni were elected to three year board seats: Marc Nichols '92, Joe Hynds '86, Josh Harris '08, and Greg Golec '05. Congratulations to our new board members!
The NCAWM board would like to thank Malcolm Young '62, Matt Mickelson '98, Fred Obenchain '62, and Hayden Wetzel '72 for their distinguished service to the board, and to thanks Terry Archambeault for his service as an officer and board member this past year. These are some little giants! Scott Medsker '03 was also elected as the newest secretary/treasurer through July 2009 - congratulations to Scott! The NCAWM would also like to welcome the latest edition to the future class of Wabash 2026, if my math is correct, Owen Dilley - congratulations to his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jon Dilley '03!
As a reminder, there will be no July luncheon, however begin looking for emails about a dinner around the Balitmore area. And do not forget to start thinking about W.A.B.A.S.H. Day projects... October is right around the corner!

The NCAWM welcomed Wabash's newest president, Pat White, and his wife Chris to the region Wednesday, September 19, 2007. The event was a huge success with over 90 alumni and significant others in attendance, including such notable grads as David Kimball and Greg Castanias! The Association would like to thank Greg for again hosting the event at the beautiful Jones Day rooftop terrace overlooking the capitol dome. The event was a time of reflection on the successes of past President Andy Ford and of admiration and inspiration about welcoming our newest President - we are certainly in capable hands! WELCOME PRESIDENT WHITE - WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS!

On June 5, 2007 at 11:45, Wabash alums elected officers and board members at the monthly luncheon at America Restaurant. The alums present elected Jefferson Crew '05 to be President, Jonathan Dilley '03 to be Vice-President, and Terry Archambeault '05 to be Secretary-Treasurer, and Rick Strasser '02, Scott Medsker '03, Chris Alexander '03, and Stig Hammonds '84 to fill four positions on the Board.
COL. JAMES GRAHAM EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM - MARCH 4-10, 2006
The NCAWM held the Third Annual Col. James Graham Externship Program during the first full week of March. Seven students participated in this year's program, working with the following alumni: George Patton '84, Jeremy Bird '00, Mark Walker '88, John Deschner '97, and Mike Kirby. Last year we had ten students. Some of the students stayed with Hayden Wetzel '72 or David Pancost '69. Morgan Knull '97 also hosted a student. Alex Miller '71 hosted a welcome lunch on March 4. Several alumni met with the students at R.F.D. in Chinatown for a happy hour on March 7. Greg Castanias '87 hosted a dinner at his place in Oakton, Virginia on Friday, March 9 for the students and alums and guests at the end of the program. Thank you to all the alums who participated, and Bert Salinas '97, who with Director of Career Services Scott Crawford and his office, planned the externship. An article about the Col. SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH PROFESSORS FROM THE RELIGION DEPARTMENT
On November 19, 2006 we had a brunch for alumni and guests as we welcomed professors from Wabash's Religion Department. The brunch was held at Gordon Biersch in downtown D.C. Thank you to Terry Archambeault '05 for organizing this event.
MONON BELL TELECAST
About 60 Wabash Men and guests attended the D.C. area telecast of the November 11, 2006 113th Monon Bell game. Wabash won a squeaker, but now leads the series by 2 games. The telecast was held at Finn MacCool's on 8th Street SE, WDC (on Capitol Hill). W.A.B.A.S.H. DAY
October 14, 2006, about 20 Wabash Men and friends volunteered at Friendship House Association (619 D Street SE, WDC) on Capitol Hill. Friend ship House is a non-profit, multi-service, community-based social and economic development agency founded in 1904. Friendship House Association is committed to educating individuals, families and groups to become self-sufficient. Its mission is to help people find alternatives to life-long poverty and to counteract the breakdown in family life. Through education and programs, Friendship House provides access to technology, goods and services to those in crisis and uses social institutions to better meet community needs. Wabash Men and friends painted a room and cleaned and redid the playground area. Thank you to Jefferson Crew '05 for organizing this event and to all of those who spent their Saturday afternoon performing a service to the Capitol Hill community. NCAWM MARYLAND REGIONAL DINNER
On July 20, 25 Wabash alumni and guests met for dinner at Clyde's of Columbia in Columbia, Maryland. In a successful effort to diversify the Association's activities, Jonathan Dilley '03, with the assistance of Bert Salinas '97, organized the dinner. The event was held to offer alumni who are unable to make it to the NCAWM's events downtown an opportunity to reconnect with the College. Two current students and alumni from '55 to '05 attended the dinner. Because of its success, the NCAWM plans on continuing these dinners. So stayed tuned for the next dinner, possibly during Summer 2007.
NCAWM 2006 ELECTIONS FOR BOARD AND OFFICERS
On June 6, 2006, Wabash alums re-elected the present officers and elected new board members at the monthly luncheon at America Restaurant. The alums present elected for one more term Bert Salinas '97 to continue as President, Fred Obenchain '62 to continue as Vice-President, and Hayden Wetzel '72 to continue as Secretary-Treasurer. The new board members are Malcolm Young '62 (serving a two year term), Timothy Campbell '86 (serving a one year term), and Jefferson Crew '05, Terry Archambeault '05, and Jonathan Dilley '03 to three year terms.
APRIL 12, 2006 ANDY AND ANNE FORD DINNER
On April 12 the NCAWM hosted President Andy Ford and his wife Anne Ford for an evening on the Jones Day's Capitol Roofdeck Room for a reception and dinner. COL. JAMES GRAHAM EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM - MARCH 5-11, 2006
The NCAWM held the Second Annual Col. James Graham Externship Program during the first full week of March. Last year we had six students, so the program has nearly doubled in externship opportunities to students. Some of the students stayed with their externship hosts while others stayed with Hayden Wetzel '72 or David Pancost '69. Greg Castanias '87 hosted a dinner at his place in Oakton, Virginia on Friday, March 10 for the students and alums and guests at the end of the program. MONON BELL TELECAST ON NOVEMBER 12, 2005
The 112th Monon Bell Classic on November 12, 2005 ended up as a victory and culminated in an undefeated regular season for Wabash! We had more than 90 total in attendance with about half of that from Wabash and possibly a new record. From the feedback given to Rick Strasser, '02, who organized the event, the buffet style was a hit but having our own restaurant & bar was an even bigger hit. Unless something better presents itself, we'll try and continue with the same set-up and location (with additional sound for the room) next year.
WABASH DAY ON OCTOBER 29, 2005
WABASH Day! On October 29, 2005, several alums and guests participated at a Special Olympics bowling event from 1:30-4:30. The success of the event nationwide along with our continuing commitment to our communities has led us to hold WABASH Day annually. Expect the day to be in October 2006. A special thanks to Rick Strasser '02 and Scott Medsker '03 for organizing the events.
WABASH POLITICAL SCIENCE PROFESSORS VISIT D.C. ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2005
On September 1, 40 alumni, friends, and family joined three Wabash guests -- Political Science professors Melissa Butler and Stephen Dyson, and Wabash Magazine editor Steve Charles -- for a cocktails and hors d'oeuvres reception in downtown Washington, DC. The gathered guests heard an update from Dr. Butler on the new academic year and the ongoing Presidential Search process, and were introduced to Dr. Dyson, the newest member of the Political Science faculty. Drs. Butler and Dyson also distributed a letter from Dr. David Hadley, sharing his regrets at not being able to join the group, but seeking alumni support and participation for his Spring 2006 course in Congress and the Executive, which will include a weeklong trip to Washington. The NCAWM also heard continued positive reactions from campus about the first NCAWM Col. James Graham '65 Externship Program, which was held over Spring Break earlier this year. Steve Charles interviewed several alumni and took numerous photos for forthcoming articles in Wabash Magazine.
The group also heard from NCAWM President Bert Salinas '97, and NCAWM board members Scott Medsker '03 and Rick Strasser '02. Bert reminded the group of the NCAWM's monthly lunches and happy hours, as well as soliciting support for the second Graham Externship Program this coming Spring; Scott and Rick, the co-chairs of the NCAWM's WABASH Day initiative, announced that the NCAWM would participate in two local community activities on October 29 -- the Greater Washington Region Heart Walk from 6:30 a.m. to noon, and the Special Olympics from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rick also announced the location for the joint Wabash/DePauw gathering for the Monon Bell telecast in November.
NATIONALS V. CARDINALS BASEBALL GAME ON AUGUST 27, 2005
About 35 alumni and friends attended a Wabash group outing at a Washington Nationals v. St. Louis Cardinals baseball game Saturday afternoon. The Nationals lost 6-0 because of a great pitching performance by the Cardinals pitcher. The NCAWM was mentioned during the 5th inning on the scoreboard. We look forward to holding a similar outing in 2006.

WABASH AT THE WIZARDS ON FEBRUARY 7, 2005
Thanks for all of those who attended Wabash Night at the Wizards, which Patrick Jones '96 organized. About 15 alumni and their guests attended the game.
MONON BELL TELECAST ON NOVEMBER 13, 2004
Wabash Men and guests gathered with the Dannies to watch together the 111th Monon Bell Classic at Caddies on Cordell in Bethesda, Maryland. Turnout was high at the new venue. Wabash lost the game, 14-7. The series record is now 51-51-9.

Emeritus Lafollette Distinguished Professor in the Humanities and Emeritus Professor of Religion Raymond B. Williams, Director of Alumni Affairs Tom Runge '71, and Wabash alumni and friends of all ages and generations met on May 20, 2004 at the annual Wabash on the Road event.
Dr. Williams who has taught at Wabash his entire career, starting in 1965 as an instructor in religion, founded the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion and served as its director until 2002. Dr. Williams trained as a scholar of the New Testament, and became one of the foremost interpreters of immigrants and their religious traditions. His numerous books include studies of Swaminarayan Hinduism, Indian immigrant experiences, and Buddhists, Hindus, and Sikhs in America.
