Football Team Begins Practices

Junior quarterback Matt Hudson believes this year’s Little Giants aren’t going to be complacent with finishing in the top eight in the country. He said this year’s team is committed to having another successful season, and that journey started Tuesday when the Little Giants had their first fall practice under first-year coach Erik Raeburn.

Warner Postpones Leave to Serve Students

History Professor Rick Warner was to have been on a research sabbatical this fall. Then, late in the summer, he got a call from the president, and was later asked if he would step in to become the acting associate dean of students under new Dean of Students Mike Raters.

Freshmen Student-Athletes Report

The first of a class of over 250 freshmen began reporting to the Wabash College campus over the weekend. Thirty soccer and 127 football players got the 2008-2009 school year underway by completing paperwork and testing for the upcoming fall sport season.

Wabash Football Youth Clinic Set for September 19

Wabash College's football team will hold its sixth-annual Youth Day Football Clinic next month. The free clinic will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Byron P. Hollett Little Giant Stadium.

Forbes: Wabash Nation's 12th Best

Wabash College has been named America’s 12th best college by Forbes.com. The rankings include 569 undergraduate institutions. The 12th spot in the first-ever Forbes ranking of America’s Best Colleges puts Wabash ahead of not only all other Indiana institutions but also above all other “peer institutions” in the Midwest

Wabash Football Team Exhibits Its Plane Strength

This past weekend, the Wabash College senior guard Erik Shaver, along with 18 other Little Giants football teammates, moved a 147,000-plane Boeing 727 plane 20 feet in less than five seconds. The plane pull was just one of the events in the Special Olympics Indiana FedEx Plane Pull Challenge in Indianapolis.

Wabash Center Receives $8 Million Grant

Wabash College President Patrick E. White has announced that the College has received an $8.1 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. that will continue the work of the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion through June 30, 2012.

Van Zee Named Tennis Coach at Earlham
Adam Van Zee '07 is very familiar with tennis in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The three-time captain and 2007 All-NCAC doubles player will take over as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Earlham College.    more...

NAWM to Honor Alumni as part of Homecoming Weekend
As part of the Homecoming 2008 festivities, the National Association of Wabash Men will honor six of its alumni and welcome two new men to the ranks. The awards will be given Saturday morning, October 4 as part of Alumni Chapel at 11:00 a.m. in the Pioneer Chapel.    more...

Four Home Football Games Broadcast Live on the Internet

All four of the 2008 Wabash College home football games leading up to the 115th Monon Bell Classic will be broadcast over the Internet. Hometown Television will provide live coverage using Teamline as the Internet distributor before providing a tape-delayed broadcast on cable outlets throughout the state of Indiana the following week.

The Wabash College Annual Fund has surpassed $3 million for the first time in the College’s history. More than 4,400 Wabash alumni, friends, faculty and staff have made contributions totaling $3,104,282.    more...
