World Finance Expert Charles Calomiris to Give Rogge Lecture

One of America’s leading authorities on world finances, Charles Calomiris, will present the 2009 Benjamin A. Rogge Memorial Lecture at Wabash College. Calomiris’ lecture, “The Subprime Turmoil: What’s Old, What’s New, and What’s Next,” will be presented at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, in Baxter Hall, room 101.

Rhetoric Majors an Accomplished Bunch

Cole Lecturer Ayala Discusses Darwin, Religion
Dr. Francisco J. Ayala, a native of Madrid, Spain, delivered the 2009 Cole Lecture series talk Mar. 19 in Ball Theatre.  Ayala's lecture was entitled “Darwin's Gift to Science and Religion,” and focused on the process of natural selection, its implications, and on the claims of Intelligent Design.     more...

Honors Weekend Shapes Decisions

More than 300 high school seniors were on campus over the weekend for the 116th Honors Scholar Weekend. Of course there is the testing, but also an opportunity for the young men to get to know Wabash, the faculty and staff, and students.

Talk Show Hosts Says Conservatism Advances Minorities

Responsible decision-making and financial independence through small government were the two reoccurring themes of Tammy Bruce’s Wednesday lecture. The national talk show host suggested conservatism was the best approach for gays, women, and other minorities to advance their lives.

Gall Wins Race, Honors Fallen Teammate

Scott Gall ’96 might be the best snowshoe racer in North America. It was fitting he captured the Jeremy Wright North American Snowshoe Championship held in Beavercreek, Colorado. Gall and Wright were teammates on the Wabash cross country team that finished third at the national championships. The race honors Wright, who died serving in Afghanistan.

Rowe's $1.7 Million Estate Gift Endows Scholarship

Wabash College has received a $1.7 million gift from the estate of Indianapolis attorney Norman Rowe ’60, which will endow a need-based scholarship program for entering freshmen. Rowe passed away on January 19.

Wabash Music Department Gives Spring Concerts

The Music Department will offer its annual Fine Arts and Honor Scholarship Weekend Concert at 8 p.m., Friday, March 20, in Salter Hall in the Fine Arts Center. In addition, the Wabash College Glee Club will present its Campus Concert Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., March 22, in the Salter Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center.

Stout '08 Dies from Injuries Suffered in Auto Accident

John P. Stout ’08 passed away Sunday, March 15, at St. Vincent Hospital in Frankfort. Stout suffered injuries in a car accident Feb. 23 near Frankfort. Hewas a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity during his Wabash career.

Experience Indiana Presents Menard

American Idol contestant Luke Menard and pianist Greg Jasperse will present a concert sponsored by Wabash College as part of the Experience Indiana Speakers and Artists Series at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the auditorium of Crawfordsville High School. The concert will benefit the American Cancer Society and kicks off weekend activities, including tomorrow night's Relay for Life.
