105 Wabash golfers from around Central Indiana enjoyed mild temperatures and sunny skies during the 2009 edition of the Mitchum Crock sponsored by the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men (IAWM).

The 37th edition of the Opportunities to Learn About Business program came to an end Saturday afternoon when 48 rising high school seniors were recognized at the program’s commencement ceremony.

Ryan Short '03 has joined the high school coaching staff at Martinsville High School. The local paper, Martinsville's Reporter Times, recalled his Wabash heroics in introducing him to the community.

June 19, 2009 was the scheduled return of Kerry Wood and Mark DeRosa to Chicago's north side with the visiting Cleveland Indians.  It also marked the day of the annual Cubs game outing hosted by the Wabash Club of Chicago.

Wabash has been recognized by one of the nation’s oldest college guide books as a “Best Buy” school. Fiske Guide to Colleges selected 44 best buy schools across the nation. Wabash was one of those best buys!

Will Oprisko, a Taylor University graduate who has spent the last five years in student life positions at John Carroll University, has been named the new Associate Dean of Students at Wabash College. Oprisko will begin his work at Wabash on July 6.

Wabash College has joined many other institutions across the country to extend benefits to veterans of the United States armed forces. Wabash is joining the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program, which covers the majority of college expenses for veterans.

Wes Zirkle '98 has a legal profession in the fast lane. He works for a marketing firm negotiating contracts in the motor sports business.

Wabash wrestling coach Brian Anderson had his first summer wrestling camp at Wabash five years ago. Anderson has brought in some of the biggest names in American wrestling — Gable, Baumgartner, Cejudo — and the campers have followed. This year 320 wrestlers were here for instruction and competition.

Dr. Tim Lake is hoping five weeks in Africa helps him create a class on slave trading and enhance his efforts to improve African studies at Wabash College. He has filed his first blog entry which you can read here.

In a year when there were a million reasons to stay home instead of returning to Wabash for the 2009 Big Bash Reunion Weekend, alumni lifted the spirits of all at the College with a new all-time reunion attendance record of 389 men in attendance.

The alumni came to Crawfordsville, jogged their memories, shook hands with old friends, sang their hearts out, and gave this mighty little liberal arts college exactly what it needed — a shot in the arm of pure spirit and love for this place and the men who call it their college.

There's a lot of spirit in the Wabash Class of 1959 and it was on full display at the 2009 Big Bash Banquet. More than half the class returned to set a Big Bash record for highest attendance at a 50th reunion.

Every year the more-than-300 alumni gather with family and friends for the Alumni Chapel Sing. It's one of the highlights of the weekend.

Not everybody who showed up for Chapel Sing turned out for class photos, and not everyone who stood for class photos lent their voice to Alumni Chapel Sing. But you can still see who came back for the class photo!
