Dear Wabash Alumni and Friends:

In my role as National Chairman of the Wabash Annual Fund, I have the responsibility to ask for your philanthropic support of Wabash students several times during the fiscal year. I also have the privilege to report to you the results of our efforts for the 2009 fiscal year that ended June 30.

I am happy to report that more than 4,200 alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends — whose names are recognized in this 2008-2009 Honor Roll — kept Wabash on their mind and supported the mission of the College with a gift to the Annual Fund. That’s a remarkable illustration of the loyalty and dedication of our alumni and friends!

Our collective giving helped the College’s Annual Fund reach $3 million for the second year in a row and the second time in the College’s history. This includes more than 1,500 gifts in the month of June in response to a challenge by 30 of Wabash’s most loyal alumni to raise $1 million in 30 days in support of Wabash students.

Annual Fund support is a clear indication of your belief in Wabash’s enduring mission of educating men to think critically, act responsibly, lead effectively, and live humanely.

I speak for all of the students, faculty, and staff who truly appreciate your participation in the life of the College when I thank you for your annual support.

We will again ask you to join together with us in growing the Wabash Annual Fund in the upcoming year. In what continues to be difficult economic times for so many, I do hope you will include Wabash in your philanthropic plans again in the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Our Wabash students are well worth your investment.

Sincerely,

G. Michael Dill ’71
