Since arriving at Wabash College in the fall of 2002, Michelle Rhoades has taught a variety of history courses focused on the European past. These include surveys and intensive research seminars on France, World War I, Nazi Germany, medical history, and European gender and sexuality. Having lived and worked in Paris, Rouen, Bordeaux, and Aix-en-Provence she knows the value of foreign study and remains a proponent of off-campus study for students.
She has taken Wabash students to France on four different occasions to allow them to study the country's language, culture, and history. An accomplished baker and die-hard foodie, she spends many weekends crafting artisanal breads and pastries.
