"Giving Back" is a theme often heard while talking to Wabash alumni. They are actively improving their communities as volunteers and social leaders. That spirit of giving back often begins while at Wabash. Community involvement is a key element of living a humane life. In fact, it is so important to Wabash that the College maintains an online directory of community service opportunities.
It begins early...
Within the first week of arriving on campus, freshmen spend an afternoon engaged in community service projects ranging from painting, landscaping, and cleaning to assisting social service agencies.
...and continues long after your college days have passed
2005 marked the first W.A.B.A.S.H. Day (Wabash Alumni Benefiting And Serving
Humanity).
Wabash Day is the National Association of Wabash Men's annual, national day of
community service. It is tied to the core values of the college requiring men
to to be responsible citizens and to be effective, thoughtful leaders to make
our communities more humane.
In 2007, Wabash alumni and students performed community service projects
at 24 locations across the country. This year's Wabash Day is scheduled for
October 11-12 and promises to be our biggest one yet.
