Admission to Wabash College is highly selective and based on the secondary school record including courses, grades, recommendations, English language proficiency, and other information taken from the application. Wabash admits students without regard to religion, race, disabilities, or national origin.
Items needed for a file to be considered complete and reviewed for admission:
- A completed application with signature
- An official copy of academic transcripts from the last 4 years of education and the Secondary School Report
- An essay showcasing you ability to write well
- Standardized test scores (TOEFL or SAT/ACT)
- Two letters of recommendation
- The International Finances Form with corresponding documentation. Corresponding documentation must be original or attested copies and could consist of a bank statement accounting for designated funds, tax forms indicating the value of designated property, or employer letters and pay stubs verifying employment. If a bank statement is used to verify funds, a letter is also required from the account holder stating that the designated funds have been set aside for the student’s educational expenses.
- The Financial Aid application attached to the International Finances Form with corresponding documentation. See above for the description of corresponding documentation.
Originals or certified (attested) copies of all documentation are required. It is not necessary to include copies of academic awards or extracurricular accomplishments. As all documents received become part of the student’s permanent file, do not send anything the needs to be returned.
For Fall 2009 consideration, the final application deadline is March 15. Priority consideration for merit-based and need-based awards is given to those with a complete file on record by February 1. If you wish to be considered for any possible remaining merit awards, we must receive you complete application, academic records, score reports as well as your International Finances Form and Financial Aid application along with their corresponding documentation by the March 15 deadline.
Depending on the applicant pool at the time, files that become complete after the March 15 deadline will not be considered for admission in Fall 2009. However, at the student’s request, we will hold the application information for consideration in Fall 2010. Because of the required orientation for international students, it is Wabash policy to not admit international students at mid-year, Spring semester.
